Grand Petroleum Lubes Distributors Business Forum – 05/09/2011

Addressing its customers at a business forum in Lagos last weekend, Chairman, Grand Petroleum, Mr. Toni Ogunbor, said that a major problem facing the petroleum industry was on product adulteration and called on the federal government agencies to join the company in fighting against this practice. According to him, “We are already fighting this muster head by closely working with the relevant government agencies, with a view to eradicating fake products.”

He disclosed that Grand Petroleum has invested heavily in the provision of world class lube oil blending plant with an installed capacity of 6 million litres monthly, stressing that the investment has made the company to increasingly satisfy the growing demand for its high quality products in the market, especially the Hi-Speed Engine oils and Gear oils nationwide. In his words, “The Hi- Speed range of lubricants produced in accordance with the stipulated international specifications and standard covers a wide range of applications, namely: automotive, industrial, marine and specialties.”

Commenting on its ultra-modern lubricant blending plant, he said it has a state- of- the -art laboratory to ensure that the company maintains quality products across all its product lines. “Our products are all certified and approved by the relevant regulatory authorities – Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR),” he added. Ogunbor, however, disclosed that his company has employed a reputable consultant to drive its transformation agenda aimed to achieving effective organisational change for productive performance and installation of ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System.

Various gift items were presented to some dealers of the company as part of its effort to reward them for their loyalty and patronage. Customers who were present at the business forum commended the company for its high quality, while advising it to improve on packaging. They noted that the products of the company are of good quality, noting however, that not everybody outside Lagos knows about them. “So adequate strategies should be employed to penetrate the market so as to make them become products of first choice. We also commend the company’s bold step in curbing adulterated products,” they stated.
